Margaret Loy Pula hails from an incredibly distinguished artistic family. She is the daughter of well-known Aboriginal artist Kathleen Petyarre and the mother of Abie Loy Kemarre. Both Abie and Margaret were taught to paint by Kathleen. In 2011 Margaret was the first female artist to win the Sunshine Coast Art Prize and the Paddington Art Prize. In 2012 Margaret was a finalist in the prestigous Wynne Prize.
