Aboriginal Art by Makinti NapanangkaMakinti Napanangka is a Pintupi speaker who was born around 1930 in the Lake MacDonald region in Central Australia. Her work incorporates designs associated with the travels of the Kungka Kutjarra (two women). In 2003, 2004 and 2005 Makinti was named as one of Australia' s 50 most collectable artists by the Art Collector Magazine. In 2008, Makinti won the Major Prize of the Silver Jubilee Telstra Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award. |
